Uhhhhh except that basically every great philosopher was German (or Prussian or Austrian).
When that crowd includes Nietzsche (God is dead! I know because I killed the mofo myself!), Schopenhauer (who might have believed in ultimate freedom of mankind, but probably slept with a gun) and Kant (included here because he can make your eyes bleed), that’s not such a great thing.
Not to mention that all of them and Hegel were used by the Nazis to justify fascism. Of course, they also used Rousseau that way. Both the philosopher, and, I think, the character on Lost.
